DESIGN OF YACHTS, BOATS & COMMERCIAL CRAFT

The build of any vessel cannot take place unless a hull form is developed, a lines plan prepared and the hydrostatics calculated.  A list of specific design drawings will be required in order to calculate a price and get quotations to build the vessel.  All vessels are designed for a specific purpose which influences the design. The basic design work required will consist of a Hull Profile, General Arrangements Plan (GA), Deck Plan, Sail plan and basic engine room and tank plan. This will be followed with:

  1. Interior Profile & Arrangement Plan

  2. Hull & Deck Structure (Inboard Profile & Plan)

  3. Representative Structural Section (one or more)

  4. Comprehensive Equipment List (Excel File)

For large yachts, commercial vessels and boats built to RCD approval, Construction, Safety and System design work will need to be approved by the governing authority prior to building the vessel.

With 40 years experience in the design and build of yachts and boats of all sizes we have a great deal of expertise producing design work, updating old, and supporting owners and yards: This may be a hull development, line plan or initial design input to workshop drawings, systems design, engineering and safety systems, joinery plans or other work.
